THE SOLAR FUTURE: The first exclusive Sharp Solar Showroom in the UAE Dubai, UAE, July 11, 2007: Sharp Middle East Free Zone, the world’s # 1 manufacturer of solar cells appoints its distributor Green Energy LLC in opening its first exclusive Sharp Solar showroom in the Middle East. The formal inauguration commenced on the 11th of July 2007 at 11:30 am; in Dubai Creek Towers. The event was represented by Mr. Tomio Isogai, Managing Director – Sharp Middle East FZE along with Mr. Ali bin Towaih, Director of Sustainable Energy & ENPARK, Mr. Yamaji, Deputy General Manager, Solar Group of Sharp Corporation Japan, Mr. Yokoto, Director of New Business Development, Sharp ME and other chief representatives of industries associated with sustainable energy development. With more than 45 years experience, Sharp has continuously developed solar photovoltaic products with a commitment to high performance and high quality products. Sharp started development of solar cells in the year 1959 and by the year 2000 it turned out to be the No. 1 PV manufacturer with 50.4MW shipment and the recipient of Japan’s New Energy Award. Since then every year there has been an increase in the production capacity from 123 MW productions to an overwhelming expansion of 710 MW productions by the year 2007.
