The inaugural Power Generation & Water Solutions Middle East Awards Ceremony took place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition on 12th October, 2009.

The Power Generation / Water Solutions ME Awards features leading companies providing products and services to aid in meeting the region's power and water supply challenges. The Awards honoured regional professionals in six Award categories.

Judged by an esteemed panel of international industry experts, the "Energy Efficiency" category was judged on basis of an organization's effort to reduce total electricity and/or water consumption through the installation of energy-efficient equipment, lighting and appliances or through the completion of energy-efficient building retrofits or new construction projects. The "Power Generation and Water Solutions Innovation" award was judged on the basis of an organisation that has made the most significant achievement in creating innovative products or services designed to help businesses or residents save energy or water. This includes manufacturing, and retailer promotions, as well as vendor, contractor and consultant programs.
