The invention relates to a High Frequency sine wave inverter which is most suitable for running sophisticated equipment and other house hold appliances like DVDs, VCDs, ECG machines, tube lights, fans, T.V., computers, microwave oven etc. The present invention, because of high frequency operation, weighs less than 5 Kgs whereas the existing inverters of same rating weigh more than 15 Kgs. This drastic reduction in weight makes it easily transportable and gives it a sleek look. The inverter consists of a DC-DC converter, which converts the battery voltage to a higher voltage, and then it has a H- Bridge inverter, which is fully governed by a powerful microcontroller. The output of this inverter is finally filtered to pure sine wave using tuned LC filters. The inverter is capable of completely eliminating the traditional bulky 50Hz transformer. The Battery charger comprises of a SMPS based topology, which gives pure DC Current to the battery and hence enhances the battery life.
-
To eliminate the bulky 50Hz transformer from the conventional inverter, hence resulting in reduced size and weight of the equipment and relevant advantages.
-
To have complete isolation of battery and output. The battery terminals are completely isolated from the output and hence it is relatively safe.
-
To reduce the cost of the inverter by eliminating 50Hz transformer. The 50Hz transformers in the conventional inverters are quite heavy and their material cost of the core and windings are high. In the present model there is no 50Hz transformer and hence the cost is reduced.
-
To efficiently utilize the features of Low Cost microcontroller for producing PWM for making pure sine wave, doing complex operations and complete monitoring of the overall inverter functionalities.
-
Incorporates fewer components and thus achieving increased reliability.
-
To eliminate the conventional battery charger having SCR and bulky 50Hz transformer with high frequency SMPS charger. The conventional chargers have very high peak currents (even if their average values are less), resulting in increased battery stress.
-
To make SMPS based pure DC current battery charger for longer life of the batteries.
-
Requirement of water topping of batteries would be relatively lesser because of pure DC current charging.
